MarketU Terms of Service

Welcome to MarketU. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms, which include the End User License Agreement below. If you don't agree, don't use MarketU.

1. Eligibility

You must be a current university student with a valid school email, and at least 17 years old. You're responsible for keeping your account secure and for everything that happens under it.

2. The marketplace

MarketU is a platform that lets students list and discover items. Transactions are between buyers and sellers directly. We are not a party to any sale and are not responsible for items, payments arranged offline, condition, or delivery. Meet safely and use good judgment.

3. Community rules — zero tolerance for objectionable content

You agree not to post, message, or share content that is:

• Illegal, stolen, counterfeit, or prohibited — including drugs and paraphernalia, weapons, alcohol, tobacco/nicotine, prescription medications, adult services or content, live animals, academic-dishonesty services, financial scams, and recalled or hazardous items. • Harassing, hateful, threatening, sexually explicit, or otherwise abusive.
• Fraudulent, spam, or designed to scam other users.
• Infringing on someone else's intellectual property or privacy.

There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior. You can report any listing, message, or user in the app, and you can block users. We review reports and will remove content and/or remove users who violate these rules, typically within 24 hours.

4. Your content

You keep ownership of what you post. You grant MarketU a license to host and display your content so the app can function. You're responsible for your listings and messages and for having the right to sell what you list.

5. Payments

MarketU does not currently process payments between buyers and sellers — you arrange payment directly with each other, and MarketU never holds funds. MarketU does not guarantee refunds for transactions arranged between users. If in-app payments become available in the future, they will be processed by Stripe and subject to Stripe's terms, with any service fee disclosed at checkout.

6. Tickets

MarketU lets students list, discover, and message about event tickets, including student tickets. Here's exactly what that means — and what it doesn't:

• MarketU is a listing and communication platform. It is not the ticket issuer, and it does not issue, authenticate, validate, hold, transfer, or guarantee tickets, or guarantee admission to any event.
• MarketU does not process ticket payments. Buyers and sellers arrange payment on their own, and the ticket itself must be transferred through the ticket issuer's authorized transfer mechanism (for example, a university's official ticket system).
• You are responsible for the rules. Ticket eligibility, transfer, pricing, and admission are governed by the ticket issuer's rules and applicable law — including university, venue, team, and conference requirements. Sellers represent that they own or control each listed ticket and have the right to transfer it. Buyers are responsible for satisfying any eligibility restrictions (student tickets may require valid student identification for admission).
• Never post ticket credentials. Listings and messages may not expose ticket barcodes, QR codes, downloadable ticket files, transfer codes, or ticket-account logins. Never ask another student for their ticket-account password or verification codes.
• No bad tickets. Posting stolen, fraudulent, duplicated, invalid, already-transferred, or otherwise unauthorized tickets is prohibited.
• Enforcement. MarketU may remove ticket listings or restrict accounts when it reasonably believes a listing violates MarketU rules or applicable issuer rules. Repeat or serious violations may result in account suspension or termination.

MarketU is an independent peer-to-peer platform. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, Nebraska Athletics, or any university, athletic department, venue, team, conference, or ticket issuer.

7. Termination

You may delete your account anytime in Settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

8. Disclaimers & limitation of liability

MarketU is provided "as is," without warranties. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for disputes or losses arising from transactions between users.

9. End User License Agreement (EULA)

MarketU grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, per the App Store Terms. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, or redistribute the app. This is a license, not a sale.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms; continued use means you accept the changes.
